The Pella Preservation Trust invites the community to view the Prins/Kuyper House. An open house will be held this Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 906 Independence Street. This historic home will be open for the public to see and inspect. Central College has deeded this property to the Pella Preservation Trust.
The building suffered extensive damage to the rear addition from a burst water pipe during the winter of 2022. Because the property is located within a recognized National Register of Historic Places historic district – and due to the heritage of the home, Central College, the Pella Preservation Trust and the City of Pella’s Historic Preservation Commission have worked to see the building saved. The property will soon be available for renovation and repurposing. The Pella Preservation Trust will be entertaining proposals from interested parties for their vision for the future. The proposal deemed best suited for the property will be selected later this spring.
