Piling up 14 hits, the Central College baseball team raced past Luther College for an 8-3 win Monday afternoon.

The Dutch (11-17, 5-8 American Rivers Conference) set a new season high with three home runs and the second-highest hits total in a game against the Norse. Jaden Kramer had a career high four hits, scoring one run and driving in another. Logan McCoy also added three hits in the win.

Colton DeRocher and Dom DeLaPaz each had home runs to improve their season total to seven and five, respectively. DeRocher’s blast moved his career total to 23, one shy of tying the all-time school record. A solo home run from Caleb Douglass in the ninth inning put the exclamation point on the victory.

Brayden Sawyer had another impressive outing as the starting pitcher, striking out five in seven innings with no walks and six hits. All three Norse runs came on a pair of home runs. Chance Dreyer tossed two scoreless innings to close out the game.

Central has three games this weekend at Simpson College, starting with a 6 p.m. contest Friday night that can be heard live on the KNIA3 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
