Indianola girls golf, girls tennis, and boys track and field were all in action Monday.
The Indians girls golf team placed second out of 17 teams after a great day at Willow Creek Golf Course in West Des Moines, shooting a team score of 356. Reese Lucas led the squad with an 88, Cam Overton and Abbie Corbett both shot 89, and Amelia Moorlach carded a 90. The Indians next tee off Thursday in Ankeny.
The Indianola girls tennis team dominated Nevada 10-1. Getting wins in singles included Audra Dowler, Keely Greubel, Emily Allen, Ceris Askelson, and Lauren Danielson, while the doubles pairings of Greubel/Brynn Bishop, Dowler/Askelson, Maci Lerseth/Danielson, Addie Wangler/Mackenzie Blackford, and Hailey Woerderman/Claudia Halgren were all victorious. The Indians are now 4-2 overall and on a three-match win streak, and will next match up with Newton this afternoon at home.
The Indianola boys track team placed fourth at Warren County rival Norwalk. Top finishers for the boys included Graham Hilton winning the Long Jump by nearly two feet, Lathan McDaniel placing second in the Shot Put, Aiden Curtis and Owen Cambron placing second and third respectively in the discus, Deacon Jacobs placing second in the 200m, and a third place finish by the 4x800m Relay team.
