KNIA/KRLS Radio will have special edition news magazines this week highlighting local agriculture. The program will have three segments per day, and will feature multiple agriculture related agencies in Marion and Warren counties. Today’s Salute to Agriculture magazine features Marion County Farm Services Agency Executive Director Zach Andre, ISU Extension Statewide Field Specialist of Horticulture Randall Vos, and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig. Secretary Naig will discuss the new Choose Iowa signature brand for Iowa grown, raised and made products, which he says was created to help with the growing trend for locally grown products.

“We’ve got consumers that are increasingly looking for local foods and there’s many reasons for that. It’s a growing trend, you can certainly think back to the supply chain disruptions from COVID and people thinking about where my food comes from, and of course now with the cost of food and inflation. It’s just got people, which I think is good, thinking about where do things come from that I need.”

The special edition news magazines will air at 9 am, 2 pm, and 6 pm today through Friday on KNIA/KRLS.
