Six of the Indianola seven spring sports teams in action Thursday, with girls tennis being the only cancellation due to the rainy weather.

The Indianola girls track and field team took home first place in their home Ron Werling Relays at Indianola stadium. First place finishers included Gabby Akin in the Long Jump, Abbie Kluver in the Discus, Gracie Foster in the 3000m, Josie McGraw in the 200m, Madi Grover in the 400m Hurdles, Jordyn Brown in the 1500m, and the 4x100m Relay. The Indians head to Saydel on Monday.

The Indianola boys tennis team defeated Pella Christian 7-4. The Indians nearly swept singles, with Michael Rothchild, Bryson Rehmeier, Erik Jensen, Justus Woell, and Eli Chadwick winning, then the doubles pairings of Chadwick/Woell and Blake Byers/Tate Dales earned wins. The Indians are now 5-5 on the season, and will match up with Newton on the road on Monday.

The Indianola girls golf team placed sixth at Otter Creek. Reese Lucas led the team with a 90, Camryn Overton had a 93, Alexa Inman carded a 99, and Amelia Moorlach shot an even 100. The Indians next golf Monday at Ames.

The Indianola boys track team placed 8th at Waukee with a team score of 93 points. The Indians top finishers included the Distance Medley Relay placing 1st, Kiefer Barnes in the 3200m with a 2nd place finish, Jack Hilton placed 3rd in the 200m, Reed Robbins 3rd in the 1600m, Kaisen Storm 3rd in the High Jump, Lathan McDaniel 3rd in the Shot Put, and the 4x200m Relay placed 3rd. The Indians next compete Tuesday at Carlisle.

Both the boys and girls soccer teams were shut out. The girls fell to North Polk 8-0, the boys to Dallas Center-Grimes 6-0. Both teams next play Pella Christian on Monday, the girls on the road and the boys hosting.
