Marion County Development will release information from their housing needs assessment study in May.

The assessment provides data that is divided into sub-markets and examines different types of housing to provide each area of the county with information as to housing needs for local employers. Marion County Development Executive Director Carla Eysink says that the information will be presented on May 21st in Knoxville and May 22nd in Pella, but times and locations for the presentations are still being determined. Eysink encourages all residents to attend and learn more about local housing needs, especially those involved in home construction, development, and financing.

“The study is actually broken up between for sale housing, rental housing, and senior housing in addition to all the sub markets. So, there’s a lot of really good information that we will be seeing as well as some housing trends that are going on that maybe we can plug into for opportunities. So, I’d encourage you if you’re in the financing industry, if you’re in the construction industry, and anybody that touches the need for housing, please plan to attend.”
