The LifeServe Blood Center in Pella will be open additional days next week in an effort to boost their collection efforts.
The Pella Donor Center, which is typically open Mondays from noon to 6 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm, will be open for donations on Wednesday, May 1st from 8:30 am to 3 pm and Thursday, May 2nd from 11 am to 6 pm. Director of Public Relations and Marketing Shay Willis says that with the center being open additional days, their goal is to provide more opportunities to donate around the Tulip Time Festivities.
“We’re just hoping that there will be some time in all of the fun that everybody’s having with Tulip Time, that people can come out and spend a couple of minutes with LifeServe to donate blood because ultimately that gift that you give is going to really make an impact for somebody there in your community. So, we are just hoping that with these additional days that this provides some more opportunity for people to come out and donate blood.”
LifeServe Blood Center is the sole provider of blood products for Pella Regional Health Center, as well as 160 hospitals throughout the Midwest.
