flagler-bridge-update-4-23-24

The Marion County Roads Department has provided an update on the reconstruction of the Flagler Bridge at County Road T15.

Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian says that despite the project’s start being delayed, construction of the new bridge is back on schedule with the first phases of the new structure being completed.

“So, the next phase is to do some dirt work and get ready for setting the beams. It is possible that we experience a delay here in the next week or two, pending railroad approval of that beam setting plan. So, it will take a couple of cranes to set each beam and we have to do that over the railroad tracks. so we need their approval for that beam setting plan and we are still awaiting that. So, there is a possibility of some delay, however, we’re on track as of now. So, if we get those approvals I think we’ll remain on schedule with an estimated July road opening at this time.”
