Pella High School recognized members of the outgoing senior class for their excellence in the program over the past four years during the annual spring concert Monday.

The following were award recipients:
Dick Redman Excellence in Jazz – Penny Shriver, Eli Ebeling
Arion Award – Tyler Mifflin, Erin Mathes
Guy Blair Impact Award (new in 2024) – Stephen Gaul, Tess Hopkins

The Dick Redman Excellence in Jazz Award recipient is awarded to the most outstanding senior(s) in the program annually.

The Arion Award was established in 1948 to give national recognition to junior and senior class members chosen by their schools for outstanding achievement in band, orchestra or chorus. Students who receive Arion Awards attain both academic and community standing.

New this year, the Guy Blair impact award is aimed at those who exemplify leadership qualities in the band program, and honors Blair’s memory after his passing earlier this year.
