The Pella School Board started their regular meeting Monday with a tour of the ongoing Jefferson-Middle School connector construction project. Some members of the board and district administration were able to go through the facility under construction that will add ten classrooms and a large music room, as well as an indoor connector between the two buildings.
Following that viewing, regular business started, which included a construction update from DCI, a review of summer projects with use of Physical Plant and Equipment Levy and SAVE tax revenues in transportation, maintenance, and technology, as well approval of a resolution to direct the advertisement of the sale of $11.8 million in general obligation school bonds. The board also approved contracts with Perspective Consulting and Navigate Wellness, as well as price quotes for science learning materials and a furniture order for district facilities. Additionally, a new pay schedule was approved that would increase the pay for several district hourly positions.
