The Indianola Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Kiya Koda Humane Society for their Capital Campaign kickoff Tuesday.
Kiya Koda aims to raise a total of $3 million, having already raised $1 million, to build a 10k sq ft building over 5.59 acres in the northeast portion of the city that was sold to Kiya Koda by Sternquist Construction.
Kamie Haynes with Kiya Koda tells KNIA News they are asking the community to assist in any way they can.
“Every donation, every dollar counts. From the $25, $50 gifts, to the $1,000,000 gift. We need every penny that we can get. It’s going to be a community effort, it’s a campaign from the heart truly. Everyone can benefit from this shelter, it’s really going to benefit the community and make a big difference.”
Kiya Koda purchased land for expansion through the help of community partners and is located at 1600 E Orchard Place. For more information about donating, click below.
