The Norwalk tennis and soccer teams all won in dominant fashion against Oskaloosa on Tuesday to highlight another busy day of spring sports.

Norwalk Boys Tennis 11, Oskaloosa 0

The Warrior tennis boys defended their home courts without dropping a set, blanking the Indians 11-0 to improve to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Four matches ended 6-0, 6-0 and the closest score of the meet was 6-1, 6-3. Adrian Bush, Braylon Stockwell, Tyler Stiegelmeier, Drew Lents, Lane Juergens and Wyatt Black all won in both singles and doubles play for Norwalk. The Warriors host unbeaten Pella on Thursday afternoon.

Norwalk Girls Tennis 10, Oskaloosa 1

The Norwalk girls tennis team just missed a clean sweep at Oskaloosa, winning 10-1 to improve to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in conference duals. Anya Kallenbach, Katie Larson, Grace Dehmer, Tessa Livingston and Sutton McNelly all won singles matches in straight sets and earned doubles wins as well. The Warriors will travel to Pella on Thursday to take on the LHC first-place Dutch.

Norwalk Girls Soccer 10, Oskaloosa 0

In the first game of a varsity soccer doubleheader, the Norwalk girls finished off Oskaloosa 10-0. The match was stopped by the mercy rule with 29:55 remaining. Junior Braelyn Clark led the Class 2A fifth-ranked Warriors with a three-goal hat trick while Addy Wood and Olivia Welch both scored two goals. Brooke Seeley, Anna Larson and Addison Robinson all scored once. Assist leaders were Kenzie Hodge and Wood with two apiece. Norwalk improved to 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the Little Hawkeye. They will face North Scott at the DC-G Classic on Friday.

Norwalk Boys Soccer 5, Oskaloosa 0

The Norwalk boys soccer team completed the Warrior sweep at Osky, winning 5-0 to improve to 6-6 overall and 4-0 in the LHC. Noah Buhrow scored a pair of goals, followed by Drake Stageman, Jace Davis and Grant Fletcher with one each. Caden Endres had two assists and Drew Newberg notched the shutout at goalie in his first varsity start. The Warriors host Ames on Thursday night.

Norwalk Girls Golfers 2nd at LHC Meet

The Norwalk girls golf team placed second – just one stroke behind Indianola – in the second of three LHC regular-season meets. The Warriors shot a 369 at the Pella Country Club, led by freshman Evelyn Kinney’s third-place round of 87. Ava Garvey placed sixth with a 91 while Lydia Krueger (95) and Allie Soukup (96) also finished in the top 10. Addie Smith added a 99. The team’s next meet is the Johnston Invite on Monday.

Norwalk Boys Track 3rd at Carlisle

The Norwalk boys track and field squad placed third at the Carlisle Invite with 125.5 points, trailing only Indianola and ADM. The Warriors won three events, including a season-best shuttle hurdle relay time of 1:00.53 by Isaac Sutcliffe, Cameron Thomas, Daniel Roche’ and Daniel Webster. Grant Wallace won the mile with a personal-best of 4:32.21 and Sam Parker took gold in the 3,200. Cameron Thomas and Carson Fenster placed second and third, respectively, in the open 800 while Roche’ and Webster went two-three in the 110 high hurdles. Norwalk has qualified six events for the Drake Relays on Thursday through Saturday.
