Four Norwalk spring sports teams will compete today, starting with a pair of Little Hawkeye Conference tennis battles for first place.
The Warrior boys tennis team hosts Pella at 4:15, hoping to extend a six-dual winning streak. It won’t be easy. Pella is 6-0 overall, 4-0 in the LHC, and has won a pair of tournaments. Norwalk enters the day 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
The Norwalk tennis girls will look to force a first-place tie in the Little Hawkeye when they travel to Pella for a 4:15 dual. The Warriors are 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the conference. The Dutch are 5-1 and 4-0, respectively.
The Norwalk girls track and field squad will take on a 13-team field at the Carlisle Invite, which also starts at 4:15. The Warriors scored 132 points and placed second to Waukee at Monday’s Winterset meet.
The Norwalk boys soccer team will play their third match of the week at 7:30, hosting the Ames Little Cyclones. Both teams have faced a challenging schedule thus far. The Warriors are 6-6 overall while Ames is 6-4.
