Pella Christian Boys Track and Field 3rd, Girls 5th at Tulip Time Relays

Competing at Pella’s Tulip Time Relays hosted on Eagle Lane, the Pella Christian boys track and field team took third with 93 team points and the girls finished fifth with 82.5 points on Thursday night.

The Eagle boys had ten top-three finishes in individual and relay events, and those included:

3200 Meter Run – Sawyer Meinders (10:21.30) – 1st
4×200 Meter Relay – Logan Nunnikhoven, Caleb Volk, Tysen De Vries, Johnson Morgan (1:36.66) – 1st
Sprint Medley Relay – Noah Nunnikhoven, Tysen De Vries, Johnson Morgan, Brecken Ritzert (1:40.71) – 1st
4×400 Meter Relay – Ely Cadwell, Logan Nunnikhoven, Logan Gallaher, Caleb Volk (3:44.17) – 2nd
200 Meter Dash – Brecken Ritzert (24.65) – 3rd
400 Meter Dash – Sawyer Meinders (57.43) – 3rd

Pella Christian Boys Soccer Dominates Sigourney-Keota 

The Pella Christian boys soccer team had no issues scoring goals Thursday night en route to a dominant 9-0 road victory at Sigourney-Keota.

The Eagles pounced on the Cobras early in the contest, racing out to a 3-0 lead in the opening five minutes of action. Pella Christian continued to keep the pressure on, adding another two goals in the final 35 minutes of the first half to carry a 5-0 lead into the break. The Eagles further put the game out of reach in the final 40 minutes, adding four more goals to improve to 4-5 overall on the season. Theo Hugen netted a hat trick in the first half for Pella Christian, before adding two second half goals to bring his total to five on the night. Ethan Van Arendonk and Elias Keegan added the other four goals, scoring one a piece in both halves, while Camden Parker added an assist on one of Keegan’s goals.

Weather pending, the Eagles are slated to be back in action tonight at 5:30 pm at Knoxville.
