Seven of Pella’s teams were back in action Thursday after a loaded Tuesday as the regular season begins to wind down for many spring teams.
Pella Boys, Girls Dominate Home Tulip Time Relays on Eagle Lane
Minus many of their Drake Relays standouts, the home track and field meet for the green and white still belonged to the Dutch on Thursday. Pella’s boys and girls both placed 1st at the Tulip Time Relays, held this year on Eagle Lane due to construction at Pella High School.

Pella Girls Soccer Wins Another Ranked Showdown Over Nevada
The Pella girls soccer team continued their strong 2024 campaign, as the #3 in 2A Dutch knocked off #5 in 1A Nevada on the road Thursday. Abby Warner scored in each half and Maddie Holland tallied 11 saves in the victory. Pella is 7-2 overall and will next travel to Des Moines Christian on Monday before the Tulip City showdown on Tuesday.
Pella Boys, Girls Tennis Teams Defeat Norwalk
Both tennis teams continued their strong work in the Little Hawkeye Conference Tuesday, as the Dutch beat Norwalk in the boys tennis matchup 9-2 and the girls did so 10-1 at home. On the road, Joshua Roozeboom and Cameron Rowe won third-set tiebreakers to get Pella ahead 5-1 in the singles rotation. Jordan Shaffer filled in at No. 6 singles with Jack Briggs off for the evening and earned a win there as well, and did so at No. 2 Doubles with Nile Rozenboom.
The girls were 5-1 after singles and flexed their muscle in doubles, which included a special senior night start and victory for Crista Chenoweth and Hunter Hughell. Find full results below. Both tennis teams are off until next week, as the Oskaloosa meets have been cancelled.
Pella Girls Golf Wins Fairfield Triangular
The Pella Girls Golf Team was victorious on Thursday in a triangular vs Fairfield and Keokuk with a team score of 187. Leading scorers were Karsyn Lyons, Medalist (43), Emerson Lee, Runner-Up Medalist (46), Sophia Reynolds (46), and Moriah Reynolds (52). The girls next head to Monroe on Monday for a triangular with Knoxville and PCM.
Dutch Boys Golf Team 4th at Moravia
Pella placed 4th out of 22 teams at the Moravia Invite held at The Preserve at Rathbun Lake. The Dutch had a team score of 315, paced by a 74 from Cade McGinley, a 77 by Kyler Besick, and an 82 by both Patrick Bishara and Luke Naig. Pella is 68-20 on the season and heads to the Knoxville invitational Saturday.
