The Iowa Legislature wrapped up the 2024 session last week, which included passing the FY25 budget. State Representative Brooke Boden tells KNIA News one of the highlights of the budget was allowing for the state judicial system to receive extra funding.

“I’m very glad that we were able to give our judicial system more money. It’s something they have talked to us for years about. We are seeing more cases come forward in our judicial system and our court system is very stressed. So making sure those allowances were made this year that has been asked for some time, and we have a big push here in Iowa to make sure that we hold people accountable.”
