Thousands of visitors are expected to converge on the Tulip City for its annual heritage festival. The 89th Tulip Time will be held through Saturday.

Co-Chairs of the Tulip Time Steering Committee Billie Rhamy and Carol Williamson say a wide range of entertainment returns, including six total parades and stage shows each evening of the celebration. Friday is “Marching Band Day,” with several bands from around the state set to perform, and fireworks will follow the Friday night parade.

Activities generally start at around 8:30 a.m. daily and wrap up after the evening parades. In addition to the main festival activities, the Pella Opera House has several shows planned all three days of the celebration.

Tulip Queen Mia Andringa will be coronated on Thursday, which is currently scheduled for the afternoon stage show at 1 p.m. at the Pella Tulip Toren.
