The Indianola girls tennis team placed 3rd and the boys 4th at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet at Pella High School on Wednesday, the girls scoring 36 points and the boys 30.

Top finishers for the girls included a pair of championship matches, with Zoey Belt in Flight 2 Singles and the doubles pairing of Brynn Bishop/Keely Greubel in Flight 2 Doubles both finishing in 2nd place. Belt advanced with a victory in the quarters (6-2, 6-2) then in the semifinals (1-6, 6-2, 1-0) before falling in the finals (1-6, 2-6).

Bishop and Greubel received a first round bye, then were victorious in the semifinals (6-0, 6-1) before falling in the finals in a tiebreaker (3-6, 6-4, 0-1).

Emily Allen took 5th in Flight 1 Singles, and the doubles pairing of Audra Dowler/Ceris Askelson placed 3rd in Flight 1 Doubles.

On the boys side, Brysen Rehmeier advanced to the championship round after a first round bye, then winning in the semifinals (6-4, 6-2) before falling in the finals (3-6, 1-6). Michael Rothchild placed 3rd in Flight 1 Singles, while the doubles pairings of Erik Jensen/Nate Winjum and Eli Chadwick/Justus Woell each placed 5th.

The boys are back in action in a tournament at North Polk today, while the girls compete tomorrow in a tournament at Waukee Northwest.
