For just the third time in school history, an Indianola DECA student advanced as a finalist in the DECA National Competition, as Maci Darr in the Business Growth Plan was one of just two Iowans to advance.

Darr’s Business Growth Plan was a five-year plan for her own business selling handmade jewelry that included advertising, sales, marketing, and overall how-to better the business, and said being named as a finalist was a surreal experience to be among the best in the state and in the history of the school.

In addition to Darr, Indianola sent six students to compete. Final results for all the DECA competitors who made the trip to Anaheim will be released later this week. Hear more on today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
