A former Knoxville Softball standout has earned postseason awards. Ashlyn Finarty, who now plays for Missouri Western State was named honorable mention all Mid America Intercollegiate Athletic Association softball squad. Finarty, who is a pitcher and utility player, had a solid freshman campaign. At the plate she batted .277 with 39 hits, six home runs and 26 RBI. In the circle, Finarty made 14 appearances and one start going 7-1 which was the second most wins on the team in 37 innings getting 16 strikeouts to just six walks. The Golden Griffins fell in the first round of the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday 2-1, which put more than likely the final team record of 31-20 and 13-13 in the conference.
