In the midst of all the festivities happening in Pella this weekend, the Pella Christian boys golf team traveled east Friday morning and brought home hardware with a first place finish in the Colfax-Mingo Invitational.
The Eagles posted a team score of 309, outpacing PCM in second place by four strokes and the rest of the field by at least 19 strokes. Junior Eliot Menninga once again claimed the meet medalist honors, firing a 71 on the Colfax Golf Course. Landon Fransman also claimed a top five finish in the meet, taking fifth place with a 78. Deacon Branderhorst carded a 79 on the day to take seventh place and Cooper Spronk’s ninth place finish with an 81 rounded out Pella Christian’s team scoring. Isaiah Breems and Carter Brand completed the Eagles lineup Friday, shooting an 82 and 87, respectively.
Pella Christian finishes up the regular season with the last conference meet at Newton’s Westwood Golf Course on Monday.
