The Pella City Council will have several agenda items to consider after a three-week gap between meetings at their regular session this evening. The council will hold two public hearings — one for bids for sanitary sewer lining projects, estimated to cost $200,000, and another to review a lease or lease-purchase agreement for 56 new golf carts at Bos Landen for $370,575 over five years. Resolutions on the agenda will also include accepting repairs at the Bos Landen conference center, scheduling a public hearing for Union Street reconstruction from East 3rd to Morningside, approving a contract for a project replacing the roof at city hall, and a partnership between Wonder Spelen and the City of Pella for phase three improvements at Kiwanis Park. The council will also consider the second reading of an ordinance allowing microbreweries in the Central Business District with special event permits, as well as second readings for zoning changes near Pella Christian Grade School. An ordinance is also on the agenda to increase water rates by seven percent. During policy and planning, a discussion will be held about proposed employee benefit enhancements. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6:00 this evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex and can also be heard live here.
