The Pella Opera House will be hosting their first ever Opera House Outdoors event on Franklin Street next week.

As part of the event, three musical acts will take the stage in front of the Opera House, including the Dutch Front Band, Becky and Will Denton, and Back to Vinyl. There will also be country line dancing lessons and a DJ playing music in between the performances during the event. Food trucks will be on site for the event and wristbands will be sold to those 21 and older for access to the main band area and the beer garden area. Wristbands are available to be purchased for $10 at the Opera House and IDs will be checked at that time. Becky Denton says that her performance will feature a variety of music genres, with country being the primary genre.

“I do a little bit of everything, but if you had to throw a dart on the board, I’d say country. So, I’ll be doing some of my original songs, and then some of my favorite songs. And we might do a pop or a rock song, if you will. And I’ll be playing some of the songs off of my newly released EP, which came out last fall. So, I’m anxious to play some of that new material for folks.”

The Opera House Outdoors will be held on Friday, May 17th from 4:30-10:30 pm. Hear more about the event from Pella Opera House Executive Director Cyndi Atkins on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
