Multiple tornado warnings overnight impacted both Marion and Warren Counties. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on from just after 1 a.m. until 2:30 for two tornado warnings and two severe thunderstorm warnings impacting most of the KNIA/KRLS Listening Area. Rotation was reported on radar from southern Warren County, through Milo, to Pleasantville, and Lake Red Rock, but no tornadoes have been confirmed yet. Several outdoor warning sirens were sounded in local communities in Marion County. Straight-line wind damage was reported five miles south of Knoxville, including to a power line. Five staff members contributed to on-air coverage and Weatherology meteorologists had multiple updates. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air for any severe thunderstorm or tornado warning in Marion and Warren Counties.
