The Knoxville Police Department is looking for continued community support ahead of their annual helmets and hotdogs event. 

This event has already received a sizable donation from Weiler and two new bikes have also been donated by Wal-Mart. Helmets and Hotdogs hopes to continue to see support from community partners to make the event as successful as possible, whether that be through a monetary, bike, or helmet donation. 

The event, which will be held on May 24th, is a way for families to celebrate the last day of school with a community safety event. It is geared toward Pre-K through fifth grade and is an opportunity for kids to have their bike helmets checked by the Knoxville Police Department and those without a helmet can receive one while supplies last. This is also a chance to have a child’s bike tuned up to get ready for the summer. There will be several different demonstrations and displays  as well, so kids can learn ways to be safe all summer. Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller encourages the community to reach out to his department if you would like to donate.

There will be prizes and lunch provided at the event.
