The Indianola boys tennis team competed for a chance to advance against the state’s best in the class 2A individual districts on Wednesday at Norwalk High School.

Michael Rothchild advanced out of the first round with a 6-4, 6-0 victory, then fell in the quarterfinals 6-1, 6-4.

Bryson Rehmeier fell in the first round 6-2, 6-2 and was eliminated.

In doubles, Eli Chadwick and Justus Woell fell in the first round 6-3, 7-5, while the other doubles team of Erik Jensen/Nate Winjum fell in a heartbreaker in the first round in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.

The Indians will next compete in substate on Saturday.
