This is Teacher Appreciation Week and the Knoxville Community School District wants the dedicated work of teachers to be recognized not just now, but year round.

Knoxville Community School District Superintendent Cassi Pearson says it takes a special, dedicated, and an individual passionate about what they do to be a teacher. Pearson says teachers make a lasting impact on students’ lives.

“We have 130 teachers here in Knoxville, and they come every single day because they love kids and they love learning. Any teacher you ever had, had an impact on you in some way. When we think reflectively, the United States wouldn’t be what it is without our public education system.”
