Melcher-Dallas High School held an open house for their new gymnasium Wednesday night.

The event celebrated the completion of construction on the new facility, which replaced the old gymnasium that was deemed unsafe just over three years ago. Community members were invited to tour the new facility and learn more about upgrades made as part of the project. The new facility features significant upgrades for the ag and shop, music, and art departments, as well as a new fitness center that will be open to the public during non-school hours. Melcher-Dallas Superintendent Scott Bridges said he was grateful to see the public’s reaction to the new facility.

“Personally, it feels like a huge accomplishment. It’s been more of an undertaking than I ever thought I would take on as a superintendent, so now that we’re near the end of it I’m really excited for this community because it’s quite the feather in our cap. We have a lot of people at the open house and people are just really excited to just have something like this that’s so nice in their community and that they can take pride in.”
