The PCM and Pleasantville girls and boys track and field teams will be competing in the Class 2A state qualifying meet hosted by Roland-Story tonight.

As the Mustangs head into the meet, several athletes and relays currently sit ranked in the top five of the district in their respective events. For the boys, those ranked first consist of Evan Jones in the 200 meter dash, and the boys 4X100 meter relay while Evan Jones in the 100 meter dash, Griffin Olson in the 110 hurdles, Mark Bussan in the shot put, the boys 4X200 meter relay and 4X400 meter relay are ranked second. 

For the Mustang girls, Morgan Karr sits in first for the 100 meter hurdles, Tiffani Koonce is in first for the 400 hurdles, and Ayla Barrett is ranked second in the high jump. The girls shuttle hurdle relay and 4X800 meter relay are ranked first. 

For Pleasantville, Braylon Bingham currently sits ranked second in the high jump, and Allison Van Ellen sits at second in the shot put. The Pleasantville girls shuttle hurdle relay is currently ranked third. 

Both teams will compete alongside 11 other teams to try and punch their ticket to the state track and field meet. Today’s state qualifying meet starts at 4:00 pm.
