Indianola Track and Field Squads Earn State Qualifying Spots
The Indianola boys and girls track and field squads were at Waukee Northwest Thursday evening for their state qualifying meets, with both teams earning spots at the Drake Blue Oval.
The Indians girls were 2nd at the meet with 134 points, and had a multitude of qualifiers.
Josie McGraw – 100m Hurdles – 1st
Madi Grover – 400m Hurdles – 1st, High Jump – 1st
Jordyn Brown – 1500m – 2nd, 3000m – 1st
Abbie Kluver – Discus – 1st
Sprint Medley – Tessa Gripp, Kaydence Eaton, Josie McGraw, Emma White – 2nd
Shuttle Hurdle – Sully Downey, Madi Grover, Lilly Hoger, Josie McGraw – 2nd
On the boys side, Indianola scored 87 points to finish in 4th, and qualifiers included:
Owen Cambron – Discus – 1st
Aiden Curtis – Discus – 2nd
August Anderson – High Jump – 2nd
Lathan McDaniel – Shot Put – 1st
Charlie Radosevich – Shot Put – 2nd
4x200m Relay – Jack Hilton, Vinny Anderson, Jonce Hale, Eli Fox – 2nd

Indianola Boys Soccer Falls to Ottumwa
The Indianola boys soccer team fell to the Bulldogs of Ottumwa in non-conference action Thursday evening 3-1. The Indians fell behind 1-0 before equalizing in the first half with a goal from a corner kick headed in by Anson Miller that had the score tied at halftime. The Bulldogs scored twice in the second half to end the contest. Indianola falls to 4-13, and will match up with Bondurant-Farrar in the class 3A substate semifinals on May 20th.
