Multiple inches of much needed rain fell across Warren County Sunday, with over 3.5 inches in some areas. According to the National Weather Service, an average of 3.2 inches fell over the City of Indianola, with the North River near Norwalk, the Middle River near Indianola, and the South River near Ackworth all reading higher levels than normal, with the South River nearly two feet higher.

The latest Iowa Drought Monitor report showed most of Warren County in a moderate drought, with portions of north central Warren County in a severe drought. A new drought monitor report will be released later this week. More rain is expected throughout the day today according to the National Weather Service, with estimates nearing a half-inch.
