The Pella School Board approved changes to the school district’s salary schedule at their meeting Monday. The board approved new guidance that matches teachers with new legislation passed that requires new educators receive $47,500 or more, and for those with 12 years or more at least $60,000.

The board also approved new hires for the Little Dutch Academy in the consent agenda, as well as resolutions to approve the release of retainage with Academy Roofing and Sheet Metal Company, a classroom behavior manual at Madison Elementary, an auditorium manager job position, a Spanish trip to Ecuador in 2026, a memorandum of understanding with Kinetic Edge, and a series of changes to the 200 grouping of Board Policy. They also approved the sale of $11.8 million in general obligation bonds.
