The Pella Christian girls soccer team kicks off their postseason journey tonight, traveling to Des Moines to square off with Grand View Christian in the opening round of Class 1A Region 5 action. 

The Eagles enter tonight’s contest looking to put an end to a two-game losing skid, having fallen to Van Meter last Friday and Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday. The Thunder also come into the game on a two-game losing streak, falling to Albia and Van Meter last week. Tonight is just the second girls soccer game between Pella Christian and Grand View Christian, with the prior meeting happening two years ago. The last matchup, which took place on May 18th, 2022, was also a regional game and the Eagles dominated the contest for a 6-0 win.

Tonight’s regional first round contest between Pella Christian and the Thunder at the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex begins at 5:30 pm. The winner advances to face either #7 Nevada or Williamsburg in the semifinal round on Tuesday, May 21st.
