The Pella Public Library’s summer reading programs are set to begin after the conclusion of the school year.

Youth Services Librarian Katie Dreyer says that the library will be hosting a number of special events during the program this summer. The first event will be the Do Art: Comic Book Workshop on Wednesday, June 5th. Registration for the comic book workshop is required and there is a limit of 30 kids that can participate. Musician Dino O’Dell will also join the library on Monday, June 17th for a performance at the Pella Community Center. Dreyer says that they will also host the Iowa State University Insect Zoo on Wednesday, June 19th.

“I had them, maybe one of the first years I was here and it was really fun just to see different insects that we might not know or really want to see, but what they really do for the world and how they make the world go round. And that’s actually being sponsored by Iowa Healthy Homes Carpet Cleaning and Leighton State Bank.”

The summer reading programs at the Pella Public Library are set to begin on Monday, June 3rd. Find full details about the summer reading programs here.
