Pella Christian High School theatre once again enjoyed a successful year on the stage. From their multiple All-State speech nominations in the winter, to the awards received for their fall musical “Mary Poppins,” performers Abby Dart and Mia Andringa were thankful to perform with the group this past academic year.
Among the honors Pella Christian received from the Iowa Musical Theater Awards was the Outstanding Musical Production award, which is the highest possible recognition given. It was the fourth time in five years that Pella Christian’s Theatre Troupe received the award. Other awards from the production of Mary Poppins included:
- Outstanding Ensemble
- The Impact Award for director Marlo Van Perseum
- Outstanding Community Engagement

- Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Abby Dart as Mary Poppins
- Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Evan Tschetter as Bert
- Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Mia Andringa as Mrs. Banks
- Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role: Jenna Vande Zande as Jane
- Special Recognition for Performance in Principal Role: Breece Gibson as Miss Andrew
- Invitations for competition for the Triple Threat Award: Abby Dart and Evan Tschetter
