The Indianola School Board approved food service meal prices the same as the previous year at their meeting Monday, keeping the prices consistent with the 2023-24 school year.
Elementary Lunch – $3.20
Secondary Lunch – $3.30
Elementary Breakfast – $2.10
Secondary Breakfast – $2.15
Adult Lunch – $4.85
Adult Breakfast – $2.35
Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the district felt comfortable keep the numbers consistent to ease the burden on residents.
“One of those pieces where you look at what they have as far as balance in food service, budget, and then do you need to raise food prices. A lot of times it’s based on what the state tells you to do, it’s not necessarily what districts want to do. So I think it was last year we raised everything like a nickel, and this year it was just for lack of a better term it wasn’t needed to pass that on to our families. So it is going to be the same for the 24-25 school year as it was for this year for students and adults meals and breakfast.”
