The Pella Christian boys soccer team had their season come to an end Monday, falling on the road to Class 1A #2 Iowa City Regina 4-1 in the Substate 7 semifinals. The Eagles hung tough with the Regals through the opening 40 minutes of action, trailing just 1-0 at the halftime break. The Eagles quickly erased that deficit, as Nathan Brouwer scored from just inside midfield six seconds into the second half to tie the game at 1-1. Regina took control of the game from there, scoring three goals in the closing 39 minutes to end Pella Christian’s season at 8-9 overall. The Eagles will return a large majority of their team next season, as just three seniors graduate in Trae Van Maanen, Keagan Fopma, and Josh Molde.
