The Pella City Council will consider adopting several ordinances that have been on the past few agendas at their meeting this evening. The ordinances include zoning changes near Pella Christian Grade School and allowing microbreweries in the central business district, as well as the second of three readings for a water rate increase. The council will also hold a public hearing to amend the 2023-24 fiscal year budget, adopt medical plan premiums for the upcoming fiscal year, and schedule a public hearing for an urban renewal plan, which includes the Pella Municipal Airport. New Pella Police Officer Calvin Wilner will be sworn in to start the meeting. During policy and planning, the council will discuss proposed housing developments, a dog park presentation, a request from the Historic Preservation Commission, and an increase to Pella Community Services fees. The Pella City Council meeting begins at 6:00 this evening in the Pella Public Safety Complex.
