Five new Indianola Police Officers were sworn in at the most recent Indianola City Council meeting, as Robert Hurley, Nico Pelkey, Michael Babcock, Nyan Baker, and Joseph Tegels joined the department. Indianola Police Chief Brian Sher tells KNIA News the department was down in personnel in 2023 which led to some difficulties having the full options of patrol and training opportunities, but now are back up to full strength and more ready than ever to continue serving the public.
