Senior General Manager at KNIA/KRLS Radio Jim Butler has announced the Business and Broadcasting Scholarship winners for 2024.

Individuals that are receiving the scholarship this year are Carson Uitermarkt from Knoxville High School, Audry Troutman from Indianola High School and Rhya Cowden from Pleasantville High School. Butler says that KNIA/KRLS Scholarships have been presented for over 20 years, encouraging those entering post-secondary education to study business or broadcasting.

“We started this in conjunction with our seniors salute program, where we honor our graduating seniors from the area, and we’ve expanded that to include all schools. We set it up as a business and broadcasting scholarship in hopes that people would go to school for business or broadcasting and then hopefully come back to the area and encourage them to do that.”

Numerous applications were submitted from students in Marion and Warren Counties.
