After strong storms put action to a halt Tuesday, the Dutch spring and summer teams are aiming to resume action today.
The Pella boys tennis team begins the Class 1A individual tournament today at Byrnes Park in Waterloo. All six players on the team’s main varsity postseason roster are also competing for singles and doubles championships, including Jack Briggs and Ben Van Gorp, and the pairings of Joshua Roozeboom and Cameron Rowe, as well as Nile Rozenboom and Jordan Shaffer.
Also in action today, the Pella girls soccer team will begin the postseason journey one day later than expected when they host Newton. The #5 in 2A Dutch are taking on a Cardinals team they defeated 7-0 earlier in the regular season. The Class 2A regional semifinals begin at 6:00 this evening at Pella High School.
The debut broadcast of the Pella baseball team is scheduled this evening. The 3-1 Dutch welcome 3-1 Boone for non-conference action. Pella is coming off from a day away due to weather after the scheduled contest with Carlisle was cancelled. Isaiah Kettler will try to keep his torrid start to 2024 going, as he’s 10-for-13 with four extra base hits in his first four games. Coverage begins at 6:45 this evening on 92.1 KRLS.
