Both Knoxville Soccer Squads’ seasons came to an end on Wednesday to the hands of highly ranked competition. The boys fell to #1 ranked Gilbert in the class 2A substate 3-0. The Panthers played right with the Tigers for the 1st half and Coach Dylan Mick told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team had Gilbert frustrated. But the 2nd half took it out of Knoxville and eventually got three goals scored on them. Carson Cecil had eight saves. Knoxville will finish with a 10-7 record. Over in Panora, the girls were taking on #14 Panorama in the class 1A regional semifinal and fell 9-0, as the Panthers eight match winning streak was stopped. Ella Breazeale had 16 saves on the night. The Panthers will finish with a 9-5 record and officially brings to a close the spring sports season at Knoxville.
