The Marion County Humane Society is at their capacity and looking for the community to adopt a dog or cat.
The local shelter is no longer able to take any more dogs or cats because they are at their limit on the animals they can keep. This also puts a strain on the humane society financially, as it is expensive to keep so many dogs and cats. Marion County Humane Society President Leslie VanderLinden encourages the community to consider adoption or donating anyway they can. VanderLinden says that the shelter is a great place to get your new pet.
“You don’t have to go to a breeder and pay thousands of dollars when you can adopt from here between $175-$200 depending on the dog’s age. We don’t change the adoption prices for age.”
If you are interested in adopting or donating you can call the humane society or visit their website here. Hear more from VanderLinden on an upcoming Let’s Talk Knoxville.
