The Pella Christian girls soccer team had their season come to an end Wednesday, falling to Class 1A #7 Nevada 7-0 in the regional semifinals. The Eagles struggled to hold Nevada’s strikers at bay in the first half, allowing 14 shots on goal in falling behind 6-0 at halftime. In the second half, the Eagles held the Cubs to just seven shots on goal, but Nevada added a final goal in the final 40 minutes to secure the win. The girls soccer team’s loss dropped their record to 9-9 on the season, and concluded the spring sports season on Eagle Lane. Pella Christian graduates eight seniors that made significant contributions to the development of the program in Carly Huyser, Hattie Fancher, Annika Van Dyke, Ema Zula, Claire Winn-Fogle, Jaclyn Holmes, Karis Fikkert, and Dani Roose.
