CJ Davis pitched six strong innings on the mound and added two hits at the plate, leading the Norwalk baseball team to a 3-2 victory at Gilbert on Friday night. The Warriors went 2-0 on the week and improved to 2-3 overall, while the Tigers dropped to 1-5.
Davis improved to 1-1 with the win, striking out 10 batters and allowing only three hits. Cole Wardlow pitched a 1-2-3 seventh for the save. Caleb Ochanpaugh and Colton Moore joined Davis in having a two-hit night and Payton Nichols drove in a pair of runs in the fifth for Norwalk.
The Warriors will host another Raccoon River Conference foe in the Ballard Bombers on Tuesday at 7:30.
