While young, and at some positions inexperienced, the Twin Cedars Softball Squad is still looking to accomplish big things this summer. While just two players remain from a State Title winning squad two years ago, those seniors, Jillian French and Kenzyn Roberts will have to shoulder the leadership load this season. French will also be the go to pitcher in the circle. She was last season going 21-6, which was the Sabers’ overall record in 2023. Coach Zach Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports after facing two of the better teams the Sabers will face all season in Wayne and Martensdale-St. Mary’s, he hopes the schedule will now balance out to give his offense some confidence.
Dunkin: “Trying to keep perspective and Martnesdale’s pitcher is going division one and Wayne pitcher is really strong, so the bats cooked about to start the season. We have some games next week that hopefully will allow our offense to heat up and start producing like we’re used to.”
