Lake Ahquabi State Park is open to the public for camping in addition to kayak and canoe rental services, one year after completing extensive renovations to the campground and draining the lake. The campground features electrical upgrades, pull-through driveways, and a reduction in the number of campsites to create more space for larger vehicles, and the Lake Ahquabi Campground is now able to reserve slots in 100% real time.
The lake was drained in 2021 to fix several issues with the spillways and fish population, and the DNR decided while that was taking place to take advantage of the time to improve the conditions of the campground.
