The City of Indianola Hillcrest Avenue Pavement Reconstruction Project is currently in Phase 2B, part of an ongoing project to replace the failed two-lane concrete pavement with a new three-lane paved street including new storm-sewer infrastructure, a new sidewalk on one side of the road, and an improved trail crossing.

Public Works Director Akhilesh “AP” Pal tells KNIA News the multi-year project will have many construction workers with equipment in the area which may cause delays, so he asks that commuters take extra time to get to their destination and be mindful of the extra vehicles on the road when driving through that area.

“Know where you are going, plan ahead, look for detour signs and make sure when planning you take some extra time for your commute. When you are going on that road what you are used to will eventually have a road closure. So if you plan ahead to know where the detours are, follow them, and make sure you are driving cautiously. Also be careful of the work zone construction areas.”

Phase 2B is expected to go until mid-June, with Phase 3 going until mid-July, then Phase 4 is expected to be completed in November. For more information, click below.
