The Indianola boys soccer team competes at the state tournament today, the first time the program has ever qualified to the final eight. The Indians upset Bondurant-Farrar in the substate semifinal round, then won in dramatic fashion 2-1 in overtime over Sioux City West to advance. Allan Martinez with the team tells KNIA News it is a great moment to be a part of.

“It’s an honor just to be a part of this team knowing that we are the first to make it to state. I’m just very proud to be a part of this team and all the boys that play with their heart.”

The Indians take on #2 Des Moines Hoover today at 10am at the Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines. The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Jeremy Reinert on the call. The Norwalk boys soccer team is also at the state tournament today, hear their broadcast on the KNIA3 stream on KNIAKRLS.com, with Mike Oeffner on the call.
