team-9

Both Knoxville softball and baseball squads will be at different sites tonight. The baseball Panthers have their first road game of the season to the team that ended their season last year as Knoxville takes on Ballard. The Panthers have a 3-2 record and are coming off a 5-0 over Cardinal on Friday where the Panthers only allowed the Comets three hits. Ballard itself is off to an uneven start at 2-4 with wins over Webster City and Carlisle. First pitch from Huxley is set for 7:00. The Knoxville Girls of Summer stay home on Panther Drive to welcome Washington for a varsity doubleheader. Knoxville has just one game under its belt, which was a 9-2 win over Davis County one week ago. Coach Chris Peden tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that early in the season the line up is fluid and he wants to see who will battle for varsity time.

Peden: “We talk all the time about opportunities whether it’s at the varsity or JV level. I tell them I have 26 games to figure out the line up before that first regional game to figure out that first ten.”

Listen for the nightcap of the double header live on 95.3 KNIA at around 7:00.
